Closest to Fraser Place howff Shinjuku, Tokyo is the JR Okubo Station, a 3-minute walk away. A 15-minute walk will bring you to Shinjuku Station, one of the major train stations in Tokyo. With over 50 exits, it is easy to see why it plays such an important role in Japan’s rail system – and why it is the busiest train station in the world!
Shinjuku is Tokyo’s largest sub-centre. To its west is the commercial heart of the city, with several major banking, insurance and corporate headquarters. To its east lies the popular nightlife district that buzzes with life after dark. The east and south are also home to the main entertainment and shopping areas in Shinjuku.
With the country’s rich heritage, there is no shortage of museums, cultural centres and exhibition galleries. The Tokyo Opera City features a classical concert hall and contemporary art galleries while Koma Gekijo is an active arts performance theatre. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, an architectural attraction itself, features observation decks that provide magnificent views of Tokyo and Mt Fuji.
Japan is well-known for its cherry blossoms and chrysanthemums. Every April and November, Shinjuku Gyoen, one of Tokyo’s largest parks, will throng with domestic and overseas visitors who have travelled there to see the glorious blooms.
